The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will present Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue on Friday, April 10, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Castle Theater. The bandleader and front man of Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue is New Orleans native Troy Andrews. The group forms a hard-edged funk band that employs hip-hop beats, rock dynamics and improvisation in a jazz tradition.

Easter Bunny Hops & Hula at Lahaina Cannery Mall

Lahaina Cannery Mall will host free family fun on Easter weekend, beginning on Friday, April 3. The Easter Bunny will be on-hand for photos from 6 to 8 p.m. On Saturday, the bunny returns from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the keiki from Na Kamali‘i Nani O Lahaina will perform hula at 1 p.m.

Masters of Hawaiian Music Series Seeks Funding for New Films

George Kahumoku Jr., The Slack Key Show and Makai Studios have announced the continuation of the “Masters of Hawaiian Music Film Series” with the creation of two new films in 2015. The artists being documented in 2015 are Martin Pahinui and Brother Noland; $60,000 is needed to make these films.

MACC Lecture: ‘The Hawaiian Pā‘ū Rider’
