Sting performed an intimate concert at the Grand Wailea Resort on Friday night, September 7th, from 8:30-11 p.m.

Grace, beauty and culture will be exemplified at this year’s International Hula Competition, Ku Mai Ka Hula, held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center this Saturday September 10, at 1:00 p.m.

Legendary Jamaican reggae bands Third World and Inner Circle will headline Maui’s 3rd Annual Maui Massive One World Festival at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on November 6th at 4 p.m.

On September 24, in recognition of the Smithsonian Magazine’s 8th Annual Museum Day, the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku will have its own celebration; everyone gets in free.

This month’s Wailuku First Friday on September 2nd was also the debut of Festivals of Aloha, an annual event which celebrates Hawaiian Heritage.

The Yardbirds, a legendary rock band hailing from the 1960s, will hold a concert at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater Friday, September 16th at 7:30 p.m.

Local shops in Paia Town provide special sales, live music, DJs, art, presentations, food, and drinks for 4th Friday.

The band ‘America’ brings their 40th Anniversary to Maui on Friday, August 26 starting at 7:30pm in the Castle Theater.

Beautiful clothes and people will strut down the runway on September 3, at 6:00 p.m. at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. This night of high fashion and art will feature the latest collections of aloha wear and island couture from local designers.

Henry Kapono Ka’aihue will play, talk story, and sing onstage at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on August 19, from 7:30 p.m. in the McCoy Studio Theater.

The Spin Doctors will hit you with their Billboard chart toppers on August 20, at the Royal Lahaina Resort, Kaanapali at 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The marine life artist known as Wyland will be in residence on August 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. to unveil some new works and mingle with guests at the Lahaina Wyland Gallery on Front Street.

Something special has been added to this year’s 14th annual Maui Polynesian Tahiti Fete at the War Memorial Gymnasium starting on Friday, August 12, and running through Sunday, August 14.

On Friday August 12, and Saturday August 13, Musical Voices Maui presents Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, the Bach Magnificat in D Major, and the Vivaldi Concerto for Two Trumpets, directed by Robert Wills.

This weekend enjoy a free and artsy First Friday in Wailuku, The Throwdowns CD release party at the MACC, and Jim Brickman in concert at the MACC in Kahului.

The Throwdowns have been making radio waves with their songs “Stay HI,” featuring Marty Dread, and “Kihei Town.” Behind the scenes, they’ve been working overtime to record and produce their debut album, Legs of Our Own.

Auditions for the 2011-2012 season of the Maui Youth Philharmonic Orchestra will be held August 20 through September 3, 2011.

On August 5, the Maui Tropical Plantation will host the Maui Academy of Performing Arts production, Damn Yankees.
