An estimate 30,000 people attended the 98th Maui County Fair on Thursday’s opening day, according to fair organizers. The historic return of the Maui County Fair kicked off festivities with the traditional parade up Kaʻahumanu Avenue.

An estimated 3,000 people participated in the 98th Maui County Fair Parade as thousands more watched the parade unfold along Kaʻahumanu Avenue. The parade kicked off the four-day event at War Memorial Stadium Complex, which returns to the Valley Isle after a six year hiatus.

Today marks the start of the 98th Maui County Fair, returning after six years. The event features E.K. Fernandez rides, contests, food booths and other activities from Oct. 2-5, 2025, at the War Memorial Special Events Complex.

Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center, in partnership with East Maui Watershed Partnership, presents Mālama Wao Akua 2025, a juried art exhibition on view from Sept. 12 to Nov. 7, 2025. This exhibition brings together artists, conservationists, and community members to celebrate and protect the native species of Maui, Lāna‘i, Moloka‘i, and Kaho‘olawe.

To ensure safety and efficiency for 98th Maui County Fair participants and area motorists, the County of Maui has coordinated free shuttle services, free and paid parking areas, rideshare sites and traffic impacts for the event from Oct. 2-5, 2025, at the War Memorial Special Events Complex in Wailuku.

Registration is open for Theatre Theatre Maui’s Fall Break camps, a week of performing arts activities designed for children ages 5-12. The camps run from Monday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
