Following the success of its first season, the beloved children’s series “The Peek-a-Bows” is returning for Season 2, premiering on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at 3 p.m. on YouTube. This season brings ‘Alani, Lena, and Poni, the colorful sisters of the rainbow, to life once again, captivating keiki and ‘ohana with storytelling, humor and cultural themes.

Outrigger Kā‘anapali Beach Resort hosts the return of the Hula O Nā Keiki children’s hula competition on Nov. 8 and 9, 2024. Organizers say this event marks an important milestone in Maui’s recovery, serving as a symbol of resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of the island. 

The 11th Annual Hawaiian Airlines Made In Maui County Festival, Maui’s premier showcase of local products, announced its entertainment lineup. This event, taking place on Nov. 1 and 2, 2024 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, will feature live performances from several Maui musicians.

Maui Arts & Cultural Center has announced the third iteration of its new program series, ACTIVATIONS: After Hours at the Gallery.

Kīhei 4th Friday’s Spooky October Halloween Town Party will take place at Azeka Shopping Center Mauka, the “Heart and Soul” of Kīhei, on Friday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Lahaina Cannery will hold its annual Halloween Spooktacular event on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. inside the Cannery. 

Toyota Hawaiʻi will cover admission fees for the first 3,000 attendees at the 2024 Pumpkin Patch at Kula Country Farms on Maui this Sunday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the automotive distributor announced today.

The Alexander Academy Performing Company presents The Nutcracker at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15, 2024 at the Castle Theater. There are three shows: Saturday at 6:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Laʻakea Village invites the Maui community and visitors to join in the fun at the Laʻakea Village Fall Festival, taking place on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 to 4 p.m. at 639 Baldwin Ave., Pāʻia. This family-friendly event will showcase the spirit of aloha with live music, local vendors, delicious food, and exciting raffle prizes throughout the day.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center welcomes the community back for another spook-tacular Holoholo Halloween on Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The annual ArT=Mixx event, a fusion of performing and visual arts, takes place on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 7 to 11 p.m. in the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Yokouchi Pavilion and A&B Amphitheater.

Pets and keiki will be the center of attention at Maui Sunday Market over this Halloween weekend.

Seabury Hall has announced its upcoming fall concert, “Resonance: A Fall Music Concert,” featuring performances by its middle and high school bands, percussion and choral ensembles.

This month’s free Hawaiian Music Series will be held the Thursday before Halloween on Oct. 24, at 6pm at Lahaina Civic Center Amphitheater featuring local group Launaʻole. 

The 44th annual Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) presented by Halekulani celebrates returns to the MACC Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20 with six Made in Hawaii Feature Films and four Made in Hawaii Short Films under the theme “Creating New Traditions” highlighting the best in new cinema from Hawai‘i, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the world while blending the rich cultural heritage of the islands with innovative storytelling techniques and diverse perspectives. 

On Sunday, Oct. 27, Maui Arts & Cultural Center again celebrates the musical tradition of Hawai’i’s famous four-string instrument at the 17th annual Maui ‘Ukulele Festival, a free Maui community music event in the A&B Amphitheater and Yokouchi Pavilion.

This marks the first return of the popular Kīhei event since the COVID-19 pandemic.

A film telling the moving story of the reclaiming of Polynesian heritage will screen at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College on Monday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m. in the Pilina Events Center.

“Shaka, A Story of Aloha” will premiere at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. The feature-length documentary delves into the origins, meanings, and mysteries of the iconic hand-sign, which this year became the official gesture of Hawai‘i.
