Maui Now received reports of a shark sighting at Mokapu Beach in South Maui on Saturday morning, Jan. 16, 2016. Bystanders report that a tiger shark reportedly followed two people and exhibited aggressive behavior. No injuries were reported. DNLR was on scene at last report.

Deadly Accident on Dairy Road Claims Life of Pedestrian

On Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at approximately 9:24 p.m., a Motor Vehicle Collision occurred at Dairy Road (fronting Maui Market Place) and 115 feet south of Ohekani Street in Kahului. The collision occurred as a pickup truck, traveling north on Dairy Road, collided into a pedestrian crossing westbound on Dairy Road.
