The Pipiwai Trail in Kipahulu remained closed today following a fatal rockslide that killed an 8 year old Maui girl yesterday.
Downed Tree and Power Lines on Olinda Road
Maui police have closed a portion of Olinda Road in Makawao due to a downed tree and power lines. The closure went into effect at 8:45 a.m. and extends from Pookela Church to Hanamu Road. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and expect delays in their commute.

An 8-year-old Maui girl suffered fatal injuries in a rockslide at Oheo Gulch in East Maui this afternoon. Officials with the County of Maui confirmed the death, saying the incident occurred at around 1 p.m.
