Lahaina Town South Neighborhood Planning Workshop scheduled this Saturday

The County of Maui Office of Recovery and County Department of Planning will hold the Lahaina Town South Neighborhood Planning Workshop for residents of the area from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Lahainaluna High School cafeteria, located at 980 Lahainaluna Road.

Gov. Green teams up with Ulupono Initiative to boost Hawaiʻi’s access to federal funds

Amy Hānaialiʻi and Richard Cray star in ‘Man of La Mancha’ on Maui this summer 

Hawai’i’s top-selling female vocalist of all time, Amy Hānaialiʻi, will return to her roots in musical theatre to perform with professional actor Richard Cray in MAPA’s production of the iconic musical Man of La Mancha. The show runs August 16-25 at Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater.

UH telescope part of NASA’s $19.5M artificial star mission

A University of Hawaiʻi telescope on Maunakea will play a key role in a newly approved $19.5 million NASA space mission that will put an artificial “star” in orbit around the Earth. The star will be a satellite that scientists will use to precisely calibrate telescopes and more accurately measure the brightness of objects ranging from nearby stars to distant explosions of supernovae in far-off galaxies. As part of the NASA Landolt Space Mission, astronomers at the UH Institute for Astronomy (IfA) will utilize observations to generate fresh star brightness catalogs.
