Ride a new wave of storytelling when the inaugural Wailuku Film Festival culminates with two audience-choice-winning films on June 21, 2026, at Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Called the “Best of the Wailuku Film Festival,” the screenings will feature two encore screenings from the Hawaiʻi and Watersports categories.

The inaugural Wailuku Film Festival (WFF) is announcing its first wave of selections and key partnerships ahead of its debut, June 17 to 21, 2026, in historic Wailuku. Over five days, the County-supported festival will connect filmmakers and audiences to celebrate storytelling rooted in place, culture and collaboration.

“All the Things I Leave You (Patawid),” an Ilokano-language drama series rooted in the legacy of Maui’s sugar workers, is gaining international attention following its world premiere at NewFest: New York’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival and a special screening at the International Nakem Conference at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Maui attorney and cultural storyteller Lance D. Collins was honored with the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Legacy Award for Peace and Social Justice by the Knights of Rizal – Aloha Chapter on Nov. 1, 2025, at the Filipino Community Center in Waipahu.
