2015 Miss Aloha Hula Results: Maui’s Tanigawa Earns Top 5 Finish

Jasmine Kaleihiwa Dunlap of Hula Hālau ʻO Kamuela under the direction of nā kumu hula Kauʻionālani Kamanaʻo and Kunewa Mook, took the title after honoring Hiʻiaka, the youngest sister of Pele, in both her kahiko and ʻauana performances.

Three Maui Dancers Compete for 2015 Miss Aloha Hula Title

Three Maui hālau are competing this year including: the men and women of Hālau Kekuaokalāʻauʻalaʻiliahi, under the direction of nā kumu hula ʻIliahi & Haunani Paredes; the wahine dancers from Hālau Nā Lei Kaumaka O Uka, kumu hula Nāpua Greig; and the women of Moanaʻs Hula Hālau, under the direction of nā kumu hula Raquel Dudoit and Valerie Dudoit-Temahaga.

Keiki hula students showcased their style and grace in the 19th Annual Hula O Nā Keiki competition on Nov. 13-15 at the Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel. Hālau Kekuaokalāʻauʻalaʻiliahi under the direction of nā kumu hula ʻIliahi & Haunani Joy Paredes was honored with Master and Miss Overall Hula O Nā Keiki titles.
