DOH is recommending COVID-19 bivalent boosters for keiki ages 5 and up

The state Department of Health is recommending COVID-19 bivalent booster vaccines for everyone age five and older.

Maui Health’s vaccine clinic will administer the updated (bivalent) booster as soon as they are received, which could be as soon as Friday, Sept. 9, 2022.

CDC and Hawaiʻi DOH recommend bivalent booster

The Hawai‘i Department of Health is recommending the use of the first bivalent booster vaccines designed specifically to protect against original COVID-19 and the most common forms of COVID-19 circulating in Hawai‘i now, the BA.4 and BA.5 omicron subvariants.

Maui residents receive more than 20,000 free COVID-19 test kits at drive-thru event

The distribution was held in anticipation of a surge from the Omicron sub-variants BA.4 and BA.5.

The pau hana drive-thru distribution will be 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 26 at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku.
