Christy Chung has joined Maui Economic Opportunity as Chief Operating Officer. Her job is to manage, coordinate and support MEO’s day-to-day operations and more than 30 programs in the agency’s five departments and offices in Hāna and on Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi. She also is overseeing facilities and ensuring contract compliance.

Maui Economic Opportunity’s program that assists individuals released from jail and prison by helping them to reintegrate into society, received $4,550 donations from the Construction Industry of Maui and three other attendees of the group’s scholarship banquet Wednesday. 

The Construction Industry of Maui trade group donated $1,500 to Maui Economic Opportunity for employment training programs, including the nonprofit’s effort to help reintegrate newly released inmates into the community.
