Olowalu Fire 80% Contained

The Olowalu brush fire that started on Friday, was declared 80 percent contained late Monday afternoon. Crews worked to douse hot spots near Ukumehame Stream.

UPDATE: Body Found in Burn Area of Olowalu Brush Fire

The vehicle and body appeared to have been burned as a result of the brush fire, but the actual cause of death of the identity of the individual found is pending autopsy results.

Overnight Brush Fire in Olowalu Burns 2 Acres

Fire crews arrived on scene to find an active brush fire at the base of the mountain which was initially inaccessible due to blocked roads.

Olowalu Fire Burns 10 Acres

Maui Firefighters were able to bring a 10 acre brush fire in Olowalu under containment shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.
