#central pacific hurricane season outlook

2024 Central Pacific Hurricane Season Outlook calls for 1-4 cyclones

The 2024 central Pacific hurricane season outlook from forecasters at NOAA’s Central Pacific Hurricane Center and NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, calls for 1–4 tropical cyclones across the central Pacific Hurricane region. A near-normal season has 4 or 5 tropical cyclones, which include tropical depressions, tropical storms and hurricanes.

Hurricane outlook for Hawaiʻi is quieter than normal, but wildfire peak will come sooner

Thanks to La Niña, this year’s Hawai’i area hurricane season may be lighter than last year, weather experts said during a media briefing this morning. However, the same La Niña weather conditions will keep Hawai’i severely dry and punch up the peak of wildfire season to June.

2-5 Tropical Cyclones Predicted in 2021 Central Pacific Hurricane Season Outlook

For the season as a whole, 2 to 5 tropical cyclones are predicted for the Central Pacific hurricane region. This number includes tropical depressions, named storms and hurricanes. A near-normal season has 4 or 5 tropical cyclones.
