#Congressional Gold Medal

Seabury Hall student Bobby Goldyn of Makawao, was the only student from Maui to win a gold medal in this year’s Congressional Gold Medal Awards. The medal is awarded to high school students who achieve certain benchmarks in volunteerism, character development and fitness.

US Sen. Mazie K. Hirono reintroduced legislation to award Fred Korematsu the Congressional Gold Medal for fighting against the illegal incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II and for being a staunch defender of civil rights.
