Unused Rental Vehicles Pile Up Around Kahului Airport Ahead of Quarantine Order

With many travelers opting to leave before a mandatory quarantine takes effect on Thursday, and stay-at-home order take effect on Wednesday, the overflow of returned rental vehicles is starting to pile up around Kahului Airport.  The actions are taken as state and county officials attempt to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic and prevent an overburdened medical system.  

Maui’s ConRAC Blessed, Service Starts Wednesday

A blessing was held today for the $340 million Consolidated Rental Car facility or “ConRAC” facility at Maui’s Kahului Airport. 

Maui Car Rental Facility, Electric Train on Schedule to Open May 15

The new electric train is part of a $340 million project to relocate car rental services to a single location.  The ConRAC will officially open on May 15th.

$438 M Secured for Maui Capital Improvement Projects

Maui representatives secured more than $438 million in CIP funding for the biennium of fiscal years 2018 and 2019 for various projects in Maui County.
