The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation welcomed a new class of 18 adult corrections officers during a graduation ceremony on Friday. The new corrections officers completed training and will begin their careers in facilities across the state, including three at the Maui Community Correctional Center in Wailuku.

A Maui man was booked for a disorderly incident on Monday at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in which authorities say he was “acting erratically,” and “repeatedly struck” a Deputy Sheriff.

The Department of Public Safety is looking to fill Adult Correction Officer vacancies on Maui, Oʻahu and Kauaʻi.

The class includes two individuals who have been assigned to the Maui Community Correctional Center in Wailuku, Maui.

Applications are now avail for adult corrections officers. Four recruits from the recent graduating class were assigned to Maui Community Correctional Center.

The Department of Public Safety is opening recruitment for anyone interested in becoming a correctional officer at the Maui Community Correctional Center in Wailuku.

The recruits completed nine weeks of training that included 360 hours of classroom time and physical training. They are part of a larger class of 27 that graduated today.

Eighteen recruits graduated today from basic corrections training, with six to be assigned as adult corrections officers at the Maui Community Correctional Center.
