The latest data represents a total of 11,026 “active” cases statewide over two weeks. This is now below the delta peak of 11,500. Maui County’s seven day average of cases is now 41.9 cases per 100,000. This is below the delta peak of 57.6 per 100,000 reported on Aug. 25, and the 412.1 per 100,000 reported on Jan. 21, 2022.

There are now 51 people hospitalized in Maui County with COVID-19 as of 9 a.m. on Jan. 27, 2022, marking a new record high since the start of the pandemic.

Statewide, there were 325 people hospitalized with COVID-19, including 27 on Maui. There are 3,512 new cases today, including 373 on Maui, 19 on Molokaʻi, and eight on Lānaʻi.

There are now 26 people hospitalized in Maui County with COVID-19, according to counts last updated at 9 a.m. on Jan. 11, 2022, from Maui Health. Eleven of the current Maui COVID-19 hospitalizations are in vaccinated, and 15 are in unvaccinated individuals. There are now two Maui COVID-positive patients in the ICU (1 vaccinated/1 unvaccinated) and one vaccinated COVID-19 patient on a ventilator.

The state Department of Health is reporting a COVID-19 count of 3,044 new cases today, including 273 cases on Maui, two on Molokaʻi, and six on Lānaʻi.

Maui County’s seven day average of cases is now 61.3 cases per 100,000, surpassing the Delta peak of 57.6 per 100,000 reported on Aug. 25.

In Maui County, the seven day average for new cases daily was 93, with a 9.0% test positivity rate over 14 days. This is +438% from Dec. 13-26, 2021. For every 100,000 residents in Maui County, there have been an average of 55.6 newly reported cases per day over a seven day period.

The DOH is reporting a COVID-19 count of 1,384 today, including 71 on Maui and two on Molokaʻi. The latest data represents a total of 13,966 “active” cases statewide over two week, surpassing the Delta peak of 11,500.

The DOH is reporting a COVID-19 count of 2,205 today, the highest daily count on record for the state.

There has been an average of 1,148 cases daily over seven days (Dec. 17-23), with the DOH reporting a count of 1,591 today. 

There were 1,511 new COVID-19 cases in Hawaiʻi today, including 1,293 on Oʻahu, and 101 in Maui County. There were also three new deaths–two on Hawaiʻi Island, and one on Kauaʻi. Statewide, there were 68 COVID-19 hospitalizations on Thursday. As of this morning, there are 5 people hospitalized with COVID-19 on Maui, including one in the ICU.

There were 972 additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Sunday, including 877 on Oʻahu and 38 on Maui. There were two additional COVID-19 deaths today including one each on Maui and Kauaʻi. The latest data represents a total of 4,237 “active” cases statewide over two weeks. Maui County’s seven day average of cases peaked at 57.6 per 100,000 on Aug. 25, and has been on a steady decline since the beginning of September. Today’s seven day average on Maui is 12.6 cases per 100,000.

Of today’s 214 cases, there were 212 cases identified as confirmed, and +2 probable cases were added to the count.  The confirmed cases included: 170 on O‘ahu (-1 probable); 25 on Hawai‘i Island (-2 probable); four on Maui (+5 probable); six on Kaua‘i; and seven Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.

Of today’s 189 cases, there were 159 cases identified as confirmed, and +30 probable cases were added to the count.  The confirmed cases included: 115 on O‘ahu (+19 probable); eight on Hawai‘i Island (+2 probable); 10 on Maui (+7 probable); 15 on Kaua‘i; seven on Moloka‘i; and four Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state (+2 probable).

Of today’s 72 cases, there were 60 cases identified as confirmed, and +12 probable cases were added to the count.  The confirmed cases included: 44 on O‘ahu (+7 probable); four on Hawai‘i Island (+4 probable); seven on Maui (+1 probable); five on Kaua‘i; and four Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.

In Maui County, the seven day average for new cases daily is 16, with a 1.7% test positivity rate over 14 days. This is +11% from Nov. 18 to Dec. 1, 2021. For every 100,000 residents in Maui County, there have been an average of 9.6 newly reported cases per day over the last seven days.

Today’s COVID-19 case count includes approximately 90 backlogged cases involving testing providers that recently began providing data to DOH’s electronic lab reporting system. This reporting delay includes cases reported across the state. DOH expects additional backlogged cases to be reported in the next few weeks.

There were 206 additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Friday. Today’s COVID-19 case count includes approximately 40 backlogged cases involving testing providers that recently began providing data to DOH’s electronic lab reporting system.
