Gov. Green issues Emergency Proclamation to ensure access to COVID-19 vaccine

Gov. Josh Green issued an Emergency Proclamation to protect public access to COVID-19 vaccines in Hawaiʻi following recent decisions by the federal government affecting vaccine availability.  

Aug. 25-31, 2022 COVID-19 update: 12 deaths, 1,777 new infections in Hawaiʻi

The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health reported 1,777 new COVID-19 cases for the week of Aug. 15-31, 2022, which is 442 less cases than the previous week. Hawai‘i’s COVID-19 deaths increased to 1,644, with 12 new deaths reported over the week.

87.6% of State Employees in Hawaiʻi are Fully Vaccinated, 7.6% are Unvaccinated

While all state employees have the option to vaccinate or undergo testing, the report also indicates that 87 people (.6%) have applied for an exemption from the vaccination or testing requirement and 11 (.08%) were placed on leave without pay because they did not return their attestation.
