SBA to open a Disaster Loan Outreach Center Dec. 19 at the Kahului Library

Even though the federal deadline to apply for wildfire damage or losses has passed, Hawaiʻi residents and businesses have been granted a 45-day grace period, until Thursday, Jan. 25, to submit SBA loan applications for physical property damage caused by the wildfires. The last day for small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and most private nonprofit organizations to apply for an SBA economic injury disaster loan is Friday, May 10, 2024.

Maui wildfires update: Deadline to apply for Federal Disaster Assistance extended to Dec. 9

The deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance has been extended another 30 days, meaning homeowners and renters with uninsured or underinsured damage to their property from the Maui wildfires have until Saturday, Dec. 9, to apply.  This is also the deadline for Maui’s homeowners, renters and businesses to apply to the US Small Business Administration for a low-interest disaster loan for physical property damage.

Hawaiʻi delegation urges SBA to extend loan deadline for those impacted by wildfires

Today, US Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, led the Hawaiʻi Congressional delegation in a letter to Isabel Guzman, Administrator of the US Small Business Administration, urging the agency to extend the physical damage loan application deadline for people impacted by the Hawaiʻi wildfires.

US SBA offers low-interest federal disaster loans for those impacted by December storm

Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to Hawaiʻi businesses and residents affected by severe storms, flooding and landslides that occurred Dec. 5-10, 2021.

As previously announced SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance is coordinating with the Hawaiʻi Governor’s Office to certify the state for Economic Injury Disaster Loan Assistance.
