The 13th Annual Paddle Imua crowned its champions this Sunday, July 14 following a race down the famed Maliko Run off the north shore of Maui. Paddle Imua is a multi-discipline paddling race which, in the spirit of the Hawaiian word “Imua” (meaning ‘to move forward’), aims to raise funds for Imua Family Services’ Camp Imua program – a 48-year Maui tradition which provides a week-long recreational summer camp experience for children with special needs. 

Imua Family Services along with Title Sponsor BLUESMITHS Crafted Waterwear announced the date of the 7th Annual BLUESMITHS Paddle Imua race on May 5, 2018.

Organizers of the Maui2Molokai are tying the event together this year with the Poi Bowl SUP Race for the 2017 Maui SUP Cup with a total prize purse of $12,000.

A 54-year-old Wailuku man is safe after he became separated from his standup paddle board during a downwind run from Maliko Gulch in Haʻikū to Kahului Harbor on Sunday afternoon.

The 30-year-old female from Oakland, CA, was making a downwind run from Maliko Bay with a male paddler from Makawao but fell behind. She called for help after losing sight of her partner and was having trouble finding their destination at Kaʻa Point.
