DOH alerts public about Raw Farm, Raw Milk Cheddar Cheese due to potential E. coli
The Hawai‘i Department of Health, Food and Drug Branch is alerting residents to a recall issued by RAW FARM for its Raw Milk Cheddar Cheese, both shredded and block products due to potential contamination with E. coli O157:H7.
Water treatment disinfection to change for Upper Kula in attempt to clear E. coli
The Maui County Department of Water Supply will switch its water distribution disinfectant from chloramines to chlorine beginning Jan. 10 in an attempt to clear away trace amounts of E. coli from the Upper Kula water system.
Update: Naʻalae Road added back to Boil Water Advisory list
Residents of Naʻalae Road were added back to the County of Maui’s Boil Water Advisory list today, Dec 29, 2021. The area was previously removed from the list, but was added back today because the department is conducting maintenance in the area, replacing standpipes, and flushing lines.
Boil Water Advisory Update
The Maui County Department of Water Supply reports Friday morning that, while trace levels of bacteria are dropping in affected Upper Kula system waterlines, a boil water advisory continues for residents of Waipoli, Polipoli and Middle roads, Kula Highway at Kēōkea, Thompson Road and ʻUlupalakua.

Molokaʻi’s ʻUalapuʻe Water Tests Positive for E. Coli
The Maui Department of Water Supply detected E. coli bacteria in the ʻUalapuʻe Shaft on Molokaʻi. E. coli was detected on Dec. 8, 2016, in a water sample collected the previous day at the ʻUalapuʻe Shaft. E. coli testing takes 18 hours to complete.
Honokōhau Boil Water Advisory Lifted
The resampled water has been confirmed to meet Federal Environmental Protection Agency and State Department of Health water quality standards and does not contain any trace of E. coli contamination.
