Bringing back the annual fall tradition of thrilling rides and delicious food booths is a challenge made tougher by high costs and the county’s focus on rebuilding Lahaina after the 2023 wildfire.

The four day Maui Fair event kicked off on Thursday with the Annual Parade and opening night.  Maui Fair Director, Sherri Grimes said fair attendance so far is on par with last year.

While E.K. Fernandez cited increased shipping costs, Young Brothers executives disputed the accuracy of rates and say they hope to have a discussion with interested parties in order to reach a resolution before the 95th Maui Fair in October and other County fairs scheduled statewide that utilize E.K. Fernandez services.

The 2nd Annual Maui County Carnival that was scheduled for April 2017, has been cancelled due to a rise in shipping costs that have increased 40% in 3 years.

E.K. Fernandez Shows will bring special attractions and new rides to the Maui County Carnival scheduled for Thursday, April 28, though Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the War Memorial Complex in Wailuku.

The Maui County Carnival will be a new presentation but people may best relate to it from past events. You may remember the Little League Carnival which went on for three years, ending in 2006, and the Jaycee Carnival, which ended in 1997.
