SMALL TOWN * BIG ART unveiled its latest public art in Wailuku: large-scale replicas of three oil painted portraits by Maui-based artist Avi Molinas. The painted portraits are of Wailuku icons Hōkūlani Holt, Judge Noa (Auwae) Kepoikai and Rose (Daniels) Kepoikai.

Small Town * Big Art shared an overview of its pilot year of public arts programming for Wailuku Town and is encouraging the public to provide feedback on its projects to improve next year’s programming.

Leading the latest piece is artist Eric Okdeh, a Philadelphia-based muralist, known locally as the artist behind the 2012 Nā Wai ‘Ehā mural (on Market & Main, adjacent to Request Music).

Thanks to the Hui No‘eau’s Maui Mural Project, artist, Eric Okdeh joined members of the Maui community in carrying out his artistic vision.
