Rep. Daniel Holt of Oʻahu resigns following appointment to Executive Branch
Rep. Daniel Holt (D-28, Sand Island, Iwilei, Chinatown) today announced that he will not seek another term in the State House, with his final day in office set for Friday, Feb. 13, 2026. This decision comes after Governor Josh Green appointed Holt as Special Assistant to the Chair of the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Gov. Green grants 16 hours of holiday leave; all executive offices closed Nov. 29
Gov. Josh Green is giving state employees 16 hours of paid administrative leave “in recognition of the upcoming holiday season,” according to an announcement from the Office of the Governor.
Charter Commission Acts on Proposals Governing Police and the Executive Branch
A proposal dividing the Department of Housing and Human Concerns into two distinct departments was adopted, as was one recommending the appointment of Corporation Counsel and the Prosecuting Attorney from a short list of nominees selected by an independent selection commission. Seven proposals were deferred to the next meeting due to time limitations.
