Goodwill Hawaiʻi will be distributing upwards of $400,000 total in emergency vouchers for impacted residents to redeem for clothing and household goods at any Goodwill Store in Hawaiʻi. The vouchers are being distributed to fire victims thru the nonprofit’s outreach at its emergency response centers on Maui, Oʻahu, and Hawaiʻi Island and in partnership with other government and nonprofit partners.

“Since the pandemic started, we’ve assisted more than 1,700 people to get the job training and support services they need for themselves and their families. Help us Give Hope to those struggling this holiday season,” organization leaders said in an announcement. 

Those who qualify can schedule an appointment online or by calling (808) 836-0313 to visit one of seven community tax clinics.

The Maui service is offered at the Goodwill Maui Office in Kahului. Hours of operation are the first and last Saturday of every month, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Beginning today, Feb. 2, 2016, seven clinics will open across the state. Individuals and families who earned $54,000 or less in 2015 and do not own a home or business are eligible for the service.

Goodwill Industries of Hawai‘i is offering free tax preparation services to the public through the end of March. To qualify for the service, individuals must earn $53,000 or less per year and not own a home or business.

Maui residents will have an opportunity to recycle their old computer and equipment at a free recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at the Goodwill Store and Donation Center located at 250 Alamaha Street in Kahului.
