Update/Road Open: Utility pole down at Haneoʻo Road in East Maui

Haneoʻo Road is closed between the Koki beach area (near the Huli Huli Chicken stand) and Hāmoa Beach due to a downed utility pole.

Missing Hāna Man, Cell Phone and Keys Found Near Hāmoa

Leonardo Diaz, 30, was seen at his home in Hāna on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 at around 10:30 p.m.  He was also observed by a resident at around 7:30 a.m. the following day on Haneoʻo Road walking towards Hāmoa Beach wearing only surf trunks.

Non-Swimmer Rescued at Koki Beach, East Maui

Fire crews from Engine 7 in Hāna were dispatched to Koki Beach on Haneoʻo Road in East Maui after receiving a report of a man in distress that was being swept out into the surf by a rip tide.

Criminal Investigation Launched into Arson at Senator’s Home

The torch was found propped up underneath the residence and pointed towards the floor and support beam.
