Hale Makua announces new ‘CarePlex’ and workforce housing initiatives on Maui

Hale Makua Health Services, a Maui-born nonprofit serving the island for 80 years, today announced two landmark projects inspired by the community. The first project is an innovative health care complex in collaboration with Hawaiʻi Medical Service Association (HMSA) currently referred to as the “CarePlex.” The second project is a 100-unit workforce housing development.

The Harold K.L. Castle Foundation has announced that president and CEO Terry George will retire on July 1, 2025, after 22 years of dedicated service to the organization. The foundation’s board has appointed Alex Harris as president and Eric Co as CEO, introducing a co-leadership model to guide the organization into the future.

Zero-interest loan program available for low-income engineering students at UH Mānoa

A new, zero interest, no fee loan program will be available to low-income students enrolled in the College of Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa beginning in fall 2024.
