The Fairmont Kea Lani took home the top sustainability honor from the Hawaiʻi Lodging & Tourism Association for its native reforestation work in fire-impacted Lahaina and Kula and restoration at the Waiheʻe Coastal Dunes.

RJ Arconado of Lahainaluna High School was named Top Maui County Scholar, and Ciana Cooper of Maui High School earned the prestigious title of Top Overall Female Scholar in the state. Both students were recognized for their academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to community service.

Representatives of the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, Hawaiʻi Lodging & Tourism Association, City and County of Honolulu, and an array of public safety professionals and visitor industry partners made a special announcement during a press conference at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center today commemorating Honolulu for being recognized by Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection as the “Safest City to Travel to in the World” in 2024.
