Hawai‘i Coronavirus Total Now 486: 21 New Cases, Maui Total is 80
Maui County has 14 new cases for a total of 80 confirmed positive (yesterday’s count was adjusted upward by one by the state Department of Health following their initial noon update). Of the 80 cases in Maui County, at least 40 have been released from isolation, and 7 have required hospitalization. Of the eight deaths in the state, three are in Maui County.
Hawai‘i Coronavirus Total Now 410: 23 New Cases, Maui Total is 48
As of noon on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, there are 410 cases of COVID-19 identified in Hawaiʻi with 23 new cases. Maui has 4 new cases for a total of 48 confirmed positive. Of the 48 cases on Maui, at least 14 have been released from isolation, and five have required hospitalization. Maui reported its first COVID-19 related death on Monday, April 6, of an adult male over the age of 65 with underlying health conditions and exposure to travelers.
5 New Cases of COVID-19: Hawaii State Total 95
As of noon on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, the state total count of positive coronavirus cases was 95, including 4 new cases on Oʻahu; and one new case each on Maui and Kauaʻi. Maui’s island count is now 13.
56 Coronavirus Cases in Hawai‘i: 41 on O‘ahu, 9 on Maui, 3 Each on Kaua‘i & Hawai‘i Island
As of March 22, 2020, noon, there is a total of 56 confirmed or presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in Hawai‘i. New positive results were received today for eight individuals on two islands. All new cases are Hawai‘i residents. Three people have required hospitalization; two remain hospitalized. Travel histories are pending, however two of the new cases had definite travel, while two had contact with travelers. In total, 48 cases are residents and 8 are non-residents. One of the cases reported today is a child, therefore, there are 54 adult and two pediatric cases.
All 16 Hawai‘i Coronavirus Cases are Travel Related
As of March 18, 2020, noon, there is a total of 16 confirmed or presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in Hawai‘i. New positive results were announced today for two O‘ahu residents who traveled outside Hawai‘i. The Department of Health (DOH) is monitoring these individuals and supervising their isolation as well as the self-quarantine of their family members.
One of the O‘ahu cases announced this past Monday, March 16, was a Kualoa tour operator who had not traveled, but was exposed to travelers daily. Three family members from the individual’s household were tested with negative results. All cases who tested positive in Hawaiʻi are travel related. Although the Governor said Hawaii was on the “edge of community-spread” over the weekend, state Health Officials today say “There is no evidence of community spread in Hawai‘i at this time.”
