All Hawaiʻi public schools will be closed Monday, Aug. 17 due to Lala impacts

Following assessments of school campuses and surrounding community conditions, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education will close all public schools and HIDOE offices statewide on Monday, Aug. 17.

2 Hawai‘i Island schools closed Monday due to hazardous road conditions

Ka‘ū High & Pāhala Elementary School and Nā‘ālehu Elementary School will be closed to students and staff on Monday, Aug. 26, due to hazardous road conditions. Highway 11 has been shut down by emergency crews, making both campuses inaccessible to families and staff.

Hāna High & Elementary School Closed Monday, Lack of Water

The Hawaii State Department of Education announced that Hāna High & Elementary School in East Maui will be closed on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, due to a lack of water in the area.
