Par Hawaiʻi and Hele stores have launched a statewide fundraiser to support food banks on each island in response to recent changed eligibility requirements for SNAP.

Gov. Ige signs emergency proclamation to address food insecurity

The COVID-19 pandemic caused food insecurity to grow in Hawaiʻi, and since March 2020, there has been a 36% increase in the number of families receiving food assistance through SNAP. 

SNAP Replacement Benefits Deadline Extended to April 7

The Department of Human Services in coordination with the Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency extended the deadline to submit SNAP Replacement Benefits applications for SNAP households residing in the following districts.
