Gov. Josh Green, MD, today announced the appointment of 12 individuals to the reorganized Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) Advisory Board. The appointments follow the resignation of the previous board earlier this summer, after the Governor called for new leadership to address longstanding concerns over governance and alignment with state priorities.

The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority Board of Directors has approved an immediate six-month action plan for 2024 to help address major challenges confronting residents, small businesses, visitor industry providers, Maui’s economy, and families seeking housing following the August wildfires.

Two new members of the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority Board of Directors were appointed by Governor Josh Green, M.D. Hawaiian Airlines’ Blaine Miyasato and the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism’s James Kunane Tokioka fill seats for four-year terms that expire June 30, 2026.
