Strong Winds Continue at Haleakalā Summit

Forecasters say east winds over Haleakala will be 30 to 35 mph with localized gusts over 45 mph. The strongest winds are expected over exposed ridges.

Winds of between 40 and 45 mph with localized gusts over 65 mph are expected at the summit area of Haleakalā; and 20 to 35 mph with gusts over 50 mph for the rest of the state.
