Emergency crews are on the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Iao Valley Road in Wailuku. Witnesses say one of the vehicles was swerving before striking a vehicle headed in the opposite direction.

Police initially implemented a complete closure, then began alternating traffic at around 11:18 a.m., and had the road reopened by 12:16 p.m.
Central, South Maui Road Improvement Projects Begin
There are several road improvement projects that begin this week on Maui. Both projects will involve closing down one lane and contra-flowing traffic around construction work during weekdays. ʻIao Valley Road OPEN Following Downed Electric Lines
ʻIao Valley Road is now open following a closure earlier this morning. The road was closed for about four hours as crews worked to repair downed live electric lines that were knocked over by a large tree branch. The road is now open in both directions.
