Maui’s Arase and Doan Honored at State Capitol Education Week

Maui Waena teacher Richard Arase, and Seabury Hall student Jasmine Doan were honored on Tuesday as part of Education Week at the State Capitol.

Kahului Youth Volunteer Honored for Service

Doan is credited with founding the Maui Math Circle, a free, student-run enrichment program that provides critical thinking and problem solving lessons in science, technology, engineering and math to elementary school children.

Seabury Hall Wins State Math Bowl

The victory represented the first time in the 36-year history of the Math Bowl that the overall high score was achieved by a team in the small-school division.
