Junior Lifeguard summer program closes out the season with competition

To close out the Ocean Safety Bureau’s Junior Lifeguard sessions for 2023, the Department hosted the Maui Junior Lifeguard Challenge. The event consisted of participants from all Ocean Safety districts on Maui who competed in multiple events.

2018 Maui Junior Lifeguard Enrollment Begins

Registration for free Ocean Safety Bureau’s 2018 Junior Lifeguard Program sessions for ages 12 – 17 will start at the end of this month.

2017 Junior Lifeguard Program Offered by MFD’s Ocean Safety Bureau

The 2017 summer Junior Lifeguard Program is being offered at three Maui locations on each of the three session dates listed. Daily locations will vary within each district during the two-week program period.

Winter Break Junior Lifeguard Sessions Offered

The 2-week program will be offered at two locations and includes training in lifesaving water skills, First Aid, and CPR techniques. The program is free.

HTA Teams Up to Support Junior Lifeguard Program

HTA is funding the program with $200,000, which pays for the instructors and equipment and tents, to operate the program statewide this summer.
