Efforts Continue to Restore Power to Upcountry Area by This Evening. Pi‘iholo, Olinda, pocket outages asked to prepare for overnight outage.

UPDATE: Power Restored to 1,700 MECO Customers in Kahului

An estimated 1,700 electric customers were affected by a power outage in Kahului early this morning. MECO Spokesperson Kaui Awai-Dickson said the probable cause was likely salt corrosion.

RESTORED: Kahului Airport Area Temporary Power Outage

As of 2:34 p.m., all customers were restored with the exception of the rental companies located just outside the airport.
