Hawai‘i Children’s Action Network to honor Champions for Children, Sept. 13
Hawai’i Children’s Action Network (HCAN), the only nonprofit organization in Hawai‘i solely dedicated to advocating for children, will honor the 2025 Champions for Children at The Pacific Club in downtown Honolulu on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A Lā Kūʻokoʻa celebration of Hawaiʻi’s Independence will take place on Nov. 23, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Shopping Center. The event is hosted by Kamehameha Schools Maui’s Hālau ‘o Kapikohānaiāmālama and KS Kaiāulu.
Nighttime single-lane closure on Keawe St. for water, electrical work
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises highway users of nighttime lane closures along the state-owned portion of Keawe St. adjacent to the Lahaina Bypass (Route 3000) beginning on Wednesday, April 24.

“Those are wonderful prices. Whoever wins the lottery on these 60 homes is going to truly win the lottery, so that better damn well be a fair lottery,” King said with a laugh. “I’m a little bit worried about the future asks, but I’m going to support this,” said Councilmember Kelly King.
While the price is right for homes being built at Pulelehua, questions are raised about fair practices and proper prescedent.
