Call for public art proposals for Hui Moʻolelo: Lahaina program
Maui Public Art Corps, in partnership with the County of Maui, Hale Hō‘ike‘ike at the Bailey House/ Maui Historical Society and the Lahaina Restoration Foundation, has released a request for proposals for participatory public art projects. Projects include a mural at the temporary campus of King Kamehameha III Elementary School and a mural at the Kaiser Permanente Lahaina Clinic. The deadline to apply is Sept. 8, 2024.
New Kaiser Permanente Lahaina Clinic officially opens with Hoʻōla event in Kāʻanapali
The Kaiser Permanente Lahaina Clinic sign was all that was left standing after the Aug. 8 wildfire swept through historic Lahaina town and leveled the Waineʻe Street clinic where doctors and nurses cared for patients’ colds and flu, broken bones and expectant moms since opening its doors in 1969. And, so a 7.5-foot woven lei was a fitting way to connect the past, present and future at Kaiser’s official Hoʻōla (meaning to rejuvenate, to give life and energy, to heal) event Tuesday at the clinic’s new 5,200-square-foot location at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort in Kāʻanapali.
New Kaiser Permanente Lahaina Clinic in West Maui to open; Mobile health vehicles relocate
Kaiser Permanente will close its mobile health vehicle site at the Royal Lahaina Resort today, and move all equipment to the new modular Lahaina clinic, which will open its doors to serve Kaiser Permanente members on Thursday, March 28.
