Enrollment at Hawaiʻi Public and Charter Schools Down 1.7%
Enrollment at Hawaiʻi’s public and charter schools for the 2021 – 2022 school year decreased to 171,600 students, compared with an enrollment of 174,704 students at the start of last school year — a difference of 1.7%.
UH: COVID-19 School Testing, Education Program Expands to 8 Locations
The Kamaile Academy pilot project resulted in 87% of participants reporting their participation led to a better understanding of the need for testing, and 52% were more likely to be vaccinated as a result of the pilot testing and education program, according to project co-investigator Ruben Juarez.
UH Mānoa Receives $3 Million Federal Grant for Safer School Reopening Pilot Project
The National Institutes of Health awarded nearly $3 million to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa for expansion of the Pacific Alliance Against COVID-19 pilot project in Hawaiʻi schools with vulnerable and underserved communities. The program provides rapid testing of teachers and staff, and distributes information about mitigation and vaccination.
