Water conservation requested in Upcountry Maui during Kamole Water Treatment Plant upgrade

The County of Maui Department of Water Supply is asking customers in Upcountry Maui to conserve water while the Kamole Water Treatment Plant undergoes a membrane retrofit upgrade. The six- to eight-week project includes installation of replacement membranes, a new control system and other associated improvements. The conservation request is in effect now until the upgraded system returns to service, which is anticipated in early November.

Kamole Water Facility Scheduled for 2-Day Shutdown

The shutdown is being implemented as contractors work on the final phases of a capital improvement project ensure reliability during times of drought, and save electric on costs.
