Kaniakapūpū, the summer palace of King Kamehameha III, lies within a restricted watershed in a densely forested part of Nuʻuanu on the island of Oʻahu. The site is closed to people, with the exception of Native Hawaiian cultural practitioners or permitted caretakers.
