Friends of Haleakalā National Park call for crater volunteers

The Friends of Haleakalā National Park seeks enthusiastic and fit volunteers for a strenuous two-night backpacking service trip into Haleakalā National Park’s Wilderness Areas from Tuesday to Thursday, March 17 to 19.  

New Reservation System at Haleakalā Cabins “Booked Solid” Within Minutes

Maui Now received complaints from individuals who tried to access the system only to find that many dates and popular weekend slots had already been taken. Visitors to the site report that within minutes after the publicized 7 a.m. opening, the site was booked solid through the end of the year.

Haleakalā Crater Wilderness Cabins and Reservations System Open July 1

Visitors will soon be able to reserve and stay overnight in the cabins located in Haleakalā Crater. Reservations for wilderness cabins Hōlua and Kapalaoa will go live on Recreation.gov beginning July 1, 2021 at 7 a.m. HST.
