Blessing held for new Waimānalo Kauhale, marking 26th in the state
Gov. Josh Green and partners gathered in Waimānalo, Wednesday, to celebrate the opening of Ke Kauhale ʻo Luhia. It’s the 26th site under the statewide Kauhale Initiative and a new intergenerational village intentionally designed to bring together single adults, kūpuna and families in one connected community.

House Democrats celebrate passage and funding of Majority Package Bills
House Democrats celebrated the successful advancement of the 2025 House Majority Package on Wednesday, with all seven bills now either passing final reading in both legislative chambers, adopted through companion legislation, or funded through the state budget. All measures now await the governor’s signature.

Gov. Josh Green, M.D., has announced a new partnership with HomeAid Hawai‘i to build Ka La‘i Ola, a project that will create 450 units for wildfire survivors on Maui who were not eligible for FEMA assistance. Ka La‘i Ola is the largest interim housing development announced for Maui wildfire survivors to date. Groundbreaking will soon be announced.
