#Kealii Ceballos

The winners have been announced for the 15th Annual Kū Mai Ka Hula Competition, held on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10 in the Castle Theater of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

The 2017 Miss Hula O Nā Keiki title went to Brianna Wehileimamoleihiwahiwaonāali’iokohala Lim-Ryder; and the Master title went to Hokani K. Maria.

Jaelynn Marie Kalea Nobriga of Hālau Hula Kauluokalā under the direction of Uluwehi Guerrero and Justin Kalani Brache of Hālau Hula Kealiʻi O Nālani under the direction of Kealiʻi Ceballos won the overall wahine and kāne titles respectively in the 26th annual Hula O Nā Keiki competition.

The Maui Arts and Cultural Center will be host to an international hula competition in September featuring halau from Hawaii, Japan and California.  The Ku Mai Ka Hula International Hula Competition is a 4th annual event, featuring group and soloist winners competing in kahiko (traditional) hula and auana (modern-day) hula stylings.  The event will be […]
