Maui police cold case unit highlights missing persons cases, seeks help in locating them
The Maui Police Department has released short videos highlighting missing persons cases that are being investigated by the department’s Cold Case / Missing Person Detail unit. Over the past month, the department has highlighted 16 missing individuals, including four who were reported missing after the Aug. 8, 2023 wildfires in Lahaina.
What happened to Kevin Winters? He made an ATM deposit in Kahana and vanished
On Sept. 3, 2021, Maui resident Kevin Winters deposited a $140 check from his mother at the First Hawaiian Bank ATM in Kahana at about 6:45 in the morning, and then disappeared without a trace.
Missing Person: Maui Man’s Last Contact with Family was Sept. 2
51-year-old Kevin Winters is a Maui resident; however, it is unknown where he is currently residing. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 155 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. It is unknown what type of clothing he was last wearing.
