MEMA announces adjustments to security presence in Lahaina Impact Zone

Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has announced a series of changes to security measures in the “commercial bubble” region of the Lahaina Impact Zone, set to take effect on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at 6 a.m. The adjustments will coincide with a shift change for security personnel, as part of ongoing recovery efforts coordinated with local, state and federal authorities.

Maui County launches online version of Lahaina Recovery Neighborhood Planning Workshops 

The County of Maui Office of Recovery and Department of Planning today launched an online version of their Neighborhood Planning Workshops on the “Ola Lahaina” page of MauiRecovers.org. Through the month of June, residents may participate in the online workshop at their convenience from their laptop, tablet or phone. The online workshop is an opportunity for residents who were not able to attend past neighborhood workshops to share their thoughts, or for those who did attend to share more input.

VIDEO: Honoapiilani Widening Project Breaks Ground

A ground breaking ceremony was held today for Maui’s Honoapiilani Highway widening project.  The one mile stretch between Lahainaluna Road and Aholo Road will be widened from two to four lanes, with landscaped medians, pedestrian and bike lanes and intersection upgrades.
