From the wildly dangerous 18+ foot faces of Sunday, waves had dropped to far more manageable 6-10 foot faces on Monday. 

Contest organizers of the 2018 Maui Aloha Classic say 18+ foot faces with 20 to 25 knot offshore conditions provided “the absolute best day of the still young winter season” at Hoʻokipa on Maui’s North Shore.

The International Windsurfing Tour will host its 7th annual Aloha Classic at Ho‘okipa Beach Park on the North Shore of Maui.

Opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The event features top windsurfers from across the world who will compete on Maui’s North Shore over the next two weeks.
