#Maui Fire Department promotions

Lieutenant Oliver Vaas, Fire Fighter III’s Troy Tendo, and Kahiwa McVey have been promoted to the rank of Fire Captain. Fire Fighters Keola Nakoa, Kai Evermore, Brent Barbero, Tyler Orikasa, Reyford Stone, and Thomas Heen have been promoted to Fire Fighter III.

Maui Fire Chief Bradford Ventura today announced the promotion of 15 individuals to various ranks within the department.

Jorgen Ka’ohele Busby, Jeremy Javier, Maroe Smith, Modesto Jacinto Jr, Michael Mullalley, Jeffrey Robson and Michael Howe have all been promoted to Fire Captain. Michael Gormley has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.

Henry Lindo Jr. and Kristopher Sakamoto have been promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief, the Maui Fire Department announced today. 

Promoted are: Lōkahi Herrod, Mike McDonald, Tracy Nakagawa, Henry Patao, Richard Alcon, Ikaika Blackburn, Laʻakea Chang, Clement Enomoto, Russell Jones and John Teves.

Maui Fire Chief Jeff Murray announced the promotion of four firefighters. The promotions include: Edmund Wong Leong to the rank of Firefighter III; and Kawika Alo, Shawn Kiesel and Laʻakea Chang to the rank of Firefighter II.

Promotions for Fire Captains Kaulana Kino, Sean Simon, and Firefighter III, Wayne Tashiro, took effect May 16, 2015. Promotions for Firefighter III’s Maroe Smith, Parrish Purdy, Greg Shinyama, and Garren Oura was effective May 1, 2015.

The Maui Fire Department announced the promotion of two firefighters this month: G. Nelson Saribay, Jr. to Captain, and Reza Azman to Firefighter III. Both are assigned to the Ho’olehua station on Molokai.
