New Maui book reveals untold history of Māʻalaea with rare photos, maps, illustrations

What began as a slide show three years ago at a community event has turned into a gem of a book about Maui history: “Mā’alaea: The Untold Story of Maui’s’ Historic Crossroad.”

Multi-Level State Office Building Proposed for Construction on Grounds of Old Wailuku Post Office Site

An up to six-level state office building over a five-level parking structure is proposed for development on the site of the old Wailuku Post Office at 70 South High Street in Wailuku. The parcel is currently being utilized as a parking lot for the County of Maui with approximately 45 reserved stalls.

Lahaina Plantation Museum Reopens Today

The Lahaina Plantation Museum reopens to the public today, Oct. 22 on the upper level of The Wharf, across the iconic Banyan Tree in Lahaina. The new museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The museum will be closed on the weekends and major holidays.

Pā‘ia Mural Project Scheduled for Feb. 26–28

808 URBAN will organize its first mural project on Maui in Pā‘ia, Friday through Sunday, Feb. 26 through 28. Participants are asked to meet at the Pā‘ia Municipal Parking Lot on Hāna Highway, where the mural will be painted on a 84-foot-long by 7-foot high wall.
