The Kani Kūola Music Festival commences Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Ka‘a‘i‘ike Building on the UHMC campus.

An eccentric, endearing ball of enthusiasm and musical passion, Maui based Mateus Kotok represents the quintessential artist. He has been on the cutting edge of music production for several decades. “The music is medicine for the people,” he said, hopping around like an excited schoolboy as he dances to the beat he just made.
